TCP shortlisted for VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards

Taylor Construction Plant Ltd (TCP) is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the VIBES - Scottish Environment Business Awards in the ‘Innovating Scotland’ and ‘Product Scotland’ categories.

A total of 36 businesses from across Scotland have been included in the shortlist for the prestigious awards which are focused on inspiring companies to play their part in meeting Scotland’s ambition to be a world leader on tackling climate change.

TCP is a leading innovator of off-grid temporary hydrogen fuel cell/battery hybrid products for the construction, rail and highway industries. The award submission highlighted many of these products including the hydrogen fuel cell Ecolite TH200 lighting tower, developed in partnership with BOC, a member of the Linde Group, and Ecolite CCTV tower. Both products have zero emissions and eliminate air and noise pollution.

The award entry also emphasised the company’s commitment to raising awareness about the use of hydrogen fuel cell/battery technology. TCP is a member of Hydrogen London and The Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA).

TCP is currently demonstrating to contractors and event organisers across the country its ECO GH2 hydrogen DC power generator, developed in partnership with Intelligent Energy, working alongside the LGP 2500 Power Pack to produce a clean air alternative to a 5kW diesel generator.

Gareth Holden, TCP’s Scotland Depot Manager is delighted that the company has been shortlisted within two categories for 2019 VIBES awards.

“Over the last few years, we at TCP have been providing the products and innovation for an ever-developing sustainability market. Scotland is at the forefront of working towards a ‘net- zero’ environment and our hydrogen fuel cell range has found key uses on rail, construction and film location projects to replace diesel powered alternatives.”

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards and the finalists have been selected across eleven award categories which recognise the different ways that sustainable best practice can be implemented.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 14 November at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Glasgow.
