TCP Micro Dumper demonstrating it's narrow access credentials in South LondonThe TCP Hi-C40 Micro Crusher recently performed exceptionally well for Gareth Miller of Open Living Company Ltd (South London Landscape Contractors), the unit squeezed through the external entrance passage and then the length of the hallway, to complete the task of crushing the existing rear hard paved area, with the material remaining on site as fill for the new patio to be constructed.

Material movement and landfill costs were all saved, together with the satisfaction Mr Miller achieved in recycling his old crazy paving. Gareth commented “I could hardly believe my eyes when we managed to manoeuvre this Crusher into position with no damage to door frames or paintwork- a great tool for a difficult access job that out performed my expectations”.

Hi-C40 mobile crusherIncreases in land fill taxes have resulted in increased need for the hire of mobile crushing equipment as more builders recycle on site. Due to this demand, TCP have enlarged their stock of Micro Crushers throughout all their depots to ensure they can meet the current nationwide requirements for crusher hire.

The Hi-C40 Micro Crusher is popular with local builders as it is small enough to fit through a standard gateway and ideal where site access is tight. Additionally the cost of the hire is offset against the cost of skip hire, cartaway costs, landfill taxes and the cost of having to buy in aggregate. Nationwide coverage is provided from our nationwide depot network.

Bradfords taking delivery of the Hi-C40 Mini CrusherBradfords, one of the largest independent Builder’s Merchants in the UK have just added a TCP Hi-C40 Mini Crusher to their fleet of plant hire equipment.

Having trialled a TCP mini crusher on hire since the beginning of 2008, Group Tool Hire Manager Keith Hallam realised that there was a strong demand for crusher hire and purchased their own machine.

Keith said “With the introduction of Site Waste Management Plans, there is a big emphasis on environment issues and the need to recycle as much waste as possible on site. We had a look at our hire fleet and realised that we had a requirement for a compact crusher. Having trialled the TCP Hi-C40 over a period of several months, we took the decision to purchase our own machine.”

TCP mini crusher being loaded by a mini diggerJim Bullock of J. Bullock and Sons, a landscaping company based in Hampshire, was at a loss as to what to do with a large amount of building rubble gathered after a series of driveway projects. He was aware of the potential financial benefits of recycling the rubble into useable type 1 fill rather than disposing of it in skips, but was yet to come across a machine both cost effective and up to the task to crushing the material.

Thankfully the TCP Hi-C40 mini crusher is just such a machine and was hired by Mr. Bullock to recycle the building rubble into useable type 1 fill that could either be sold on or re-used by Mr. Bullock on future projects. Mr. Bullock has been so impressed with the compact machine that he is now investigating purchasing a Hi-C40 for his business.

The Hi-C40, which is based on the rugged undercarriage of TCP’s popular Hi-T500 mini dumper, is powered by a reliable 7.4 kW Kubota diesel engine and offers an impressive crushing force of 60 tonne at the jaw outlet and has a simple and unique method of external adjustment to enable the machine to be set to provide a finished product size ranging from 20 to 70 mm.

TCP mini dumper being loaded with a concrete block with landscape gardening company Creative GardensA TCP Hi-C40 mini tracked crusher on hire from South Eastern Plant Hire of Tenterden in Kent has found a new friend in Creative Gardens, a local landscaping company.

Specialising in all types of hard landscaping, Creative Gardens had not taken up crusher hire before, thinking they would be too expensive. However, once Nick Jackson of SE Plant Hire had explained the potential savings that could be made by recycling broken concrete, bricks and paving slabs on site to produce usable hardcore rather than dispose of it via expensive skips, owner Shane Back decided to give the TCP machine a go.

Commenting on the mini crusher, Mr. Back said: “I have hired plant from Nick for many years and so was very happy to take his advice to try the crusher on a job where I had to deal with a lot of material and widen a driveway.” In fact, Mr. Back was amazed to discover that he was able to crush 20 tonne of material in just one day.

Hi-C40 mobile crusherSpecialising in restoration and conversion work, M.E. Endersby Builders of Willington near Bedford frequently has to remove large quantities of broken concrete and bricks from site prior to importing hardcore for new ground floor sub bases and hard standing areas.

Recently Mr. Endersby, or ‘Tich’ as he is known by most people, spotted one of TCP’s mini crushers during a visit to his local Wolseley UK Center and he could immediately see the many potential benefits of recycling material on his own projects.

These benefits were proved conclusively the very first time the mini crusher was hired for a farm building conversion job where several tonnes of rubble were put through the unit for reuse on site. Commenting on the success of the mini crusher hire, Mr. Endersby said: “I was delighted with the crusher’s performance and ease of use and I will definitely be hiring one on a regular basis to take advantage of both the cost and environmental savings.”

The crusher offered by the Hire Center Bedford branch is in fact one of ten units recently purchased by the company. Commenting on the decision to add the machines to its nationwide plant holding, Wolseley UK brand director for Hire David Himsworth said: “Our interest was initially stimulated by an enquiry from the Isle of Man where skip charges have increased fourfold during the last two years. With the planned increases in landfill tax the problems associated with skips are set to escalate dramatically, so we took the decision to add the crushers to our hire fleet following the success we have already experienced with TCP’s mini dumpers.”

The Hi-C40 is powered by a reliable 7.4 kW Kubota diesel engine, offers an impressive crushing force of 60 tonne at the jaw outlet and has an efficient and unique method of external adjustment to provide a finished product size ranging from 20 to 70 mm.

Hi-C40 mobile crusher in action on residential siteOne of Taylor Construction Plant’s new Hi-C40 compact tracked crushers is proving a big hit with SOB, a Norfolk based drainage and groundworks contractor.

SOB’s Myles Yallop spotted the crusher in a trade magazine and could immediately see the benefits for his 2 year old business which specialises in work on difficult sites where, for example, ground water is a problem.

In order to make best use of his new machine, Mr. Yallop has formed ‘hardcore recycling solutions’ which has been set-up to capitalise on the many benefits of the crusher. The Hi-C40, mounted onto the proven chassis of TCP’s Hi-T500 tracked dumper, is now used to crush broken concrete and brick rubble reclaimed on site, hence minimising the time and cost of material cart-away and delivery of expensive hardcore.

Illustrating the effectiveness of the Hi-C40, Mr. Yallop explains that on one of its very first sites, originally estimated to be a 4 day job, he was able to save one whole day simply by eliminating all the time normally associated with the loading, unloading and waiting for delivery vehicles.

Powered by a reliable 7.4 kW Kubota diesel engine, the HiC40 has an impressive crushing force of 60 tonne and the jaw outlet has an efficient and unique method of external adjustment to provide a finished product size ranging from 20 to 70 mm.

Hi-C40 mobile crusherFollowing extensive testing and development over the last twelve months, Taylor Construction Plant of Maldon in Essex has announced the introduction of the Hi-C40 compact jaw crusher.

Weighing just 750 kg, this fully hydrostatic unit has been designed to utilise the proven chassis and running gear of the company’s highly successful 500 kg capacity Hi-T500 diesel powered tracked dumper.

The Hi-C40 has an impressive crushing force in excess of 60 tonne and the jaw outlet has an efficient and unique method of external adjustment to provide a finished product size ranging from 20 to 70 mm. The machine’s inlet, positioned at a height of 1200 mm, has a throat measuring 400 mm square which is designed to accept material up to this size, loaded either manually or mechanically using the company’s Hi-T500 dumper or a mini excavator.

Much emphasis has been placed on operator safety with a four level system of equipment security and safety cut-outs. This safety system, if activated, immediately cuts power to the machine’s hydraulic system, as well as stopping the engine.

The Hi-C40’s liner plates are formed from high wear and abrasive resistant steel and all wear plates are relatively inexpensive to replace. In addition, the machine features an optional dust suppression system requiring connection to an external water supply.

TCP is confident that its new machine will prove ideal for a wide variety of small crushing jobs where concrete and brick building waste can be rapidly reduced to useable hardcore, thus saving the cost of both cart-away and imported fill. The efficiency of the Hi-C40, together with its conveyor discharge, should provide an excellent return on investment for either an end user or crusher hire company.

In addition, being mounted on a narrow rubber tracked carrier, the Hi-C40 is easy to manoeuver across site or pass through a standard doorway if required.
