TCP mini tracked dumper to the rescue

Hi-T500 tracked dumper working in confined spaceUntil a TCP Hi-T500 compact tracked dumper plus a micro digger arrived on an Allgrove Developments site in Poole, Dorset the company thought it was faced with a seemingly impossible muckshifting job at a nursing home.

The contract involved the installation of a new land drain behind an existing, internal retaining wall in order to solve a serious damp problem beneath the large, 15 year old property.

Access to the area was extremely limited and, initially, a micro digger and clay spades were used in conjunction with a conveyor as it was thought this would be the only viable method of spoil removal. However, this system proved to be painfully slow and therefore totally unsuitable. Fortunately, local hire company Rentool came to the rescue by suggesting Allgrove try using one of TCP’s dumpers in conjunction with the digger, a combination that proved perfect for the task.

Allgrove’s managing director Peter Collins commented: “The little dumper is a wonderful piece of kit and saved the day for us because even a wheelbarrow was out of the question for moving large quantities of heavy clay and saturated sand across the undulating ground conditions.”

Taylor Construction Plant’s Hi-T500 has a maximum payload of 500 kg and is powered by a Kubota diesel engine developing 7.4 kW (10 hp). With an overall width of just 700 mm, the unit is ideal for any application where access is severely limited.
