A TCP Hi-T500 compact tracked dumper, on hire from the Rugby depot of Travis Perkins, has helped shift nearly 55 cu m of concrete as part of a major refurbishment contract currently underway at Coventry Speedway Stadium.
The up-grading of the facilities is being carried out by new owner Coventry Greyhound Club and will result in the addition of a greyhound track to complement the existing speedway and stockcar track.
Commenting on the dumper, site manager Alan Meridith said: “We have a variety of width and height restrictions around the stadium complex and have found the Hi-T500 ideal for the job, particularly as we can only cope with small quantities of material at a time and the machine’s 500 kg payload has proved just about perfect.”
Besides the new greyhound track, the 6 month contract will also result in a new 280 seat restaurant, bars and other facilities and the TCP unit is playing a major materials handling role, helping to ensure the whole project is completed on schedule.
