A Hertfordshire based landscape contractor is saving time and, more importantly, his back by switching from a wheelbarrow to a diesel powered Hi-T500 tracked dumper.
DC Garden Services of Hemel Hempstead was established by Daniel Burfot in 1993 to specialise in private and domestic projects, with an increasing number of requests to undertake hard landscaping work.
It soon became apparent that the humble wheelbarrow was a slow and tedious method of material transportation and his micro excavator was spending far too much time standing idle.
However, having spotted TCP’s compact tracked dumper at a trade show. Mr. Burfot could immediately see the huge benefits its addition to his plant fleet would bring.
Besides being a perfect match for the digger, its overall width of just 700 mm enables it to reach any part of a garden with ease. Also, with a 500 kg carrying capacity, the Hi-T500 can now transport the equivalent of four barrow loads of material at a time and the high tip mechanism allows clean discharge directly into skips. As Mr. Burfot says: “In the past, to tip into skips with a wheelbarrow, we had to push each load up a plank which was both hard work and potentially hazardous.”
