Hi-T500 tracked dumper tackling steep gradientsA TCP Hi-T500 compact tracked dumper on hire from BTG of Ongar is making light work of steep gradients on a river defence project in Essex.

Jackson Civil Engineering of Ipswich has a £1.1M contract from the Environment Agency to up-grade existing defences alongside the river Crouch at Hullbridge.

The work involves the installation of sheet pile walling and a clay embankment, plus a variety of accommodation works for which the TCP dumper is proving invaluable. The 500 kg payload machine is being used to transport a variety of materials on site and has surprised everyone with its ability to tackle the 1:2.5 embankment sides with ease, even when fully laden.

The diesel powered Hi-T500 is one of four in BTG’s fleet and has recently been up-dated by Taylor Construction Plant of Maldon to the latest 2-speed standard specification introduced last year.
